Our solution: Art + Mentorship

Mentee displaying art project

How do we do it?

01

Level Up connects community after-school programs with local university students to implement our art-based mentorship program.

02

University students, once vetted and trained, are paired with an elementary-aged child in the after-school program.

Mentor and mentee working on art project

03

The university students guide their child through a simple art project designed to enhance their non-cognitive skills: curiosity, persistence, self-control, conscientiousness, self-confidence, and grit.

By creating a safe space for self-expression and dialogue, we empower children to navigate their emotions and discuss concerns in a healthy way.
